The client, Totally Not Evil Corporation (TNEC) wants to put an end to litter once and for all. Working towards their mission day by day the company's aim is to ever so slightly decrease the rate of litter in Australia, and to increase environmental awareness, particularly in the younger generations of people aged 10 - 25, as they are most likely to commit such a horrible act.
The main project is a Mobile App to encourage the audience to pick up litter and make a fun game out of it. The main gameplay loop of the app encourages users to go out and about, picking up litter as they do, and record it to gain 'Litter Points'. These can be spent on items and minigames, with bonus points being given for scanning/ taking photos of the rubbish they throw out. The UI has a mostly green colour palette for the environmentally friendly aesthetic and uses a wide cast of rubbish-themed characters that act as a way to compel users through funny interactions.
TNEC also wanted a poster to discourage littering through a lens of satirical humour. A 4 panel comic strip was developed to be posted online, as to better attract the target audience. Featuring the TNEC Litter Division's mascot: The Nefarious Litter Bug, a similar green colour palette and cartoonish style to the first design focused on making the comic abundantly clear in its message through over the top dramatic humour. The poster has an understandable (sort of ominously threatening) message that encourages the target audience to be more environmentally conscious.
