My series of final artworks centers around the themes of time and decay, utilising the motifs of clocks and flowers as symbols. The series contains digital illustrations with elements of photography and image manipulation. My first two artworks are of a group of people exploring a tall cave with a giant clock looming over them; their poses, searching and scanning the crannies of the rocky walls representing people spending their lives searching for purpose, with the clock, its hands already in motion, symbolising the time that passes while focused on the pursuit of something unimportant. The final images directly contrast each other, with the first half illustrating the glamorous façade of wealth and luxury through its vivid colours and beaming yellow light, and the second half using dark, murky hues and tones to depict the darkness that lies beneath excessive fortune and beauty.
