Inspired by artistic expression, my intention in creating these digital drawings was to convey emotion and narrate a story. "Monarch" serves as a tribute to historical portraiture, evoking the grandeur of 18th-century paintings. This artwork reflects on the passage of time and the complexities of power and legacy. Through the use of tonal variation, muted colours, and subtle smudging, the work explores an ambiguous quest for victory, where the fight for the crown symbolises strength prevailing over fragility. It highlights the duality between empowerment and the fleeting nature of glory. The central message, “Vulnerability in triumph,” reminds us that no matter how great a legacy, it inevitably fades into history. For me, art is a powerful form of storytelling, and creating this portrait allowed me to weave emotion, technique, and symbolism into a narrative.
