For my Unit 4 finals, I developed my earlier resolved drawings by extending and refining my ideas. I retained the tendril-like forms from my initial drawings, which were chaotic and slightly grotesque and introduced flowing lines to add texture and create contrast. Drawing inspiration from my hybrid drawings in Unit 3, I placed greater focus on the cape, a concept I had explored previously. This element helps anchor the composition while maintaining a supernatural quality as it merges into the background. The artwork follows a spiralling movement, giving it a more unified and rhythmic structure. My aim was to make it less frightening and more alluring, yet still somewhat haunting. I manipulated veins, muscles, tree roots, and fabric into unusual configurations to evoke a sense of the paranormal. The work explores the intersection of human and supernatural forms, creating an image that is both unsettling and captivating.
