Throughout my Unit 4 folio work, I worked with a make-believe client, Wordie Wheels, a non-profit charity based in rural Victoria dedicated to bringing books to small regional towns through a fleet of vans. Wordie Wheels required surface visuals for the mobile library vehicle and youthful and fun branding to be applied to merchandise. My designs were inspired by rural Australia and native flora and fauna. I took inspiration from The You Yangs and Werribee River areas, focusing on the organic shapes and colours in those natural surroundings. To gain a better understanding of my young target audience, I surveyed young children to find out more about what appealed to them, such as the bright colours and friendly characters. I added native animals, particularly koalas, to the designs of the van and created a character for the logo. I am proud of my designs as they showcase rural Australia in a fun and friendly way.
